On the evening of March 1, 2024, a significant gathering unfolded at the Four Points by Sheraton in Uganda. Strathmore alumni, hailing from various schools and graduating classes, came together for a reunion marked by warmth and connection.

Over a meal, attendees found themselves immersed in conversations filled with laughter, anecdotes, and a palpable sense of nostalgia. Memories of their time at Strathmore, with its transformative experiences and formative moments, served as the foundation for the evening’s camaraderie.

Amidst the joyous reunions, the underlying purpose of the gathering shone through –  to celebrate the values and principles that defined their journey as Strathmore students. Beyond mere reminiscence, the reunion served as a reaffirmation of their shared commitment to making a positive impact in society.

The highlight of the evening came in the form of Mr. Francis Kamulegeya, a distinguished Social Entrepreneur and Philanthropist, who served as the guest speaker. His words resonated deeply with the audience as he shared strategies for purposeful leadership, emphasizing the importance of authenticity and empowerment.

Key among Mr. Kamulegeya’s messages was the notion that leadership transcends titles or positions; rather, it is a conscious decision to inspire and uplift others. His insights sparked meaningful reflections among the alumni, inspiring them to renew their commitment to leading with purpose and integrity.

As the evening progressed, conversations flowed freely and connections were strengthened. Under the guidance of Elias Kaburu, the director of the Alumni Relations Office, a significant announcement was made: the launch of the Uganda Strathmore Alumni Chapter.

This expansion of the alumni network represents more than just a numerical growth; it signifies a deeper commitment to fostering a sense of community and providing a platform for networking and collaboration. Through initiatives like the alumni chapter, Strathmore graduates aim to inspire current and future students to strive for excellence and make a positive difference in the world.
