This is the moment to be part of it

The groundbreaking ceremony, held on Tuesday, 24th March 2026, brought together leaders from academia, industry, government and policy under the theme “STEM as the Next Frontier in Africa’s Future” to explore how Africa can prepare and position its next generation of STEM talent.

As global economies rapidly evolve through artificial intelligence, automation, and data-driven systems, the demand for STEM talent continues to grow. Yet Africa still faces a significant gap, with fewer than a quarter of higher education students pursuing STEM disciplines.

This world-class facility will bring together engineering, computing, data science, and interdisciplinary research under one roof, creating an ecosystem where ideas become solutions, and talent becomes impact.

Why this complex matters, now!

Sub-Saharan Africa needs millions of additional STEM professionals to meet its development, infrastructure, and innovation goals.

Without investment in facilities, talent, and research spaces:

1. Brilliant students are limited

2. Innovation slows

3. Opportunities move elsewhere

The Kevin O'Byrne STEM Complex changes that trajectory.

The Complex honours Kevin O’Byrne, whose life embodied service, excellence, and education as a force for good.

When you give to this project, you don’t just fund infrastructure; you help shape generations.
