
Fr. Paul Mimbi
Fr. Mimbi holds a Bachelor of Science (Civil Engineering) - Nairobi University, (1977) and has worked briefly in the following organisations; Architects-Engineers Collaborative; Paul Kelly and Associates; Gathaya Njagi and Partners (Consulting Engineers) all based in Nairobi.
He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Divinity having studied Philosophy and Theology at the Studium Generale of Opus Dei in the Roman College of the Holy Cross, Rome (1980). Afterwards, he attained a Master of Arts degree in Philosophy at the Pontifical Roman Athenaeum of the Holy Cross, Rome (1990) as well as a PhD (Philosophy) at the Pontifical Roman Athenaeum of the Holy Cross, Rome (1993). His Doctoral Dissertation is titled, “The Power of Decision” (A critical study of the Imperium of Prudence according to St Thomas Aquinas).
Fr. Paul Mimbi has research interests in Ethics and Economics and he has authored various research papers among them, ‘The Gospel as Good News for African Cultures’, ‘Retracing Our Steps’ and ‘Beyond ‘Welfarism’: Towards a philosophical grounding of economic theory’.
He has also edited “Shareholder Value and the Common Good”, a compilation of essays on the objectives and purposes of business management from a conference held at Strathmore University.
Since his ordination on 6th June 1982 by His Holiness Pope John Paul II, at St. Peter’s Basilica, Rome, Fr. Mimbi has participated in various pastoral activities in corporate undertakings. His new assignment is to be the Chaplain of Strathmore University Business School – with particular attention to the graduate students.
In his free time, he enjoys playing football, rugby and excursions.
