School of Tourism and Hospitality Scholarship (STH Scholarships)

Tourism is one of the fastest growing sectors of our economy; being a top foreign exchange earner and a high contributor to the national GDP, the industry remains a key tool for the country’s prosperity. In 2018, the travel and tourism sector in Kenya grew by 5.6% ahead of the normal global average of 3.9% contributing KShs.790B towards the country’s economy and adding 1.1 million jobs. According to the World Travel & Tourism Council report, Kenya is now positioned as the third largest tourism economy in Sub-Saharan Africa coming after South Africa and Nigeria.

In line with this, we are pleased to announce the 2019/2020 School of Tourism and Hospitality Scholarship (STH Scholarships) at Strathmore University.

We invite highly qualified candidates with a passion for tourism and hospitality to apply for these scholarships.

Potential candidates are invited to submit their applications no later than 2nd July 2019 at 5.00 pm. Please note that applications received after this date will not be accepted.

List of eligible programmes/fields of study:

Applications for STH scholarships at Strathmore University must be in one of the following fields of study:

Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Hotel Management
Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management

Eligibility

  • Applicants must demonstrate a deep understanding of what tourism and hospitality entails.
  • Applicants must demonstrate passion in the travel industry.
  • Applicant must have completed high school in 2017 or 2018.
  • Minimum grades; Mean grade C+, Mathematics C+, and English C+.
