Always wanted to help needy students? Strathmore University has just developed a share transfer programme whereby if you own odd lots of shares that therefore can’t be traded, you could donate them to our charity projects. Here’s how you can make your donation:
Strathmore University currently has about 1 out of every 5 students on student aid. Due to increasing demand, the university has, with the support of the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) and the Central Depository & Settlement Corporation (CDSC) , created a “Shares for Charity” project which allows shareholders to donate shares to Strathmore University at no transaction costs. By donating your shares, you will support bright and needy students to access quality education at Strathmore University.
You can donate any number of shares including odd lots i.e., less that 100 shares which are not tradable at the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE). Strathmore University Foundation (SUF) will acknowledge all shares donated to this project.
To become part of the “Shares for Charity” project, fill out this form or download the form(CDS 7) here to enable the transfer of shares.
