Walicheza kichampioni… kibingwa!

 

Last weekend, from March 31st to April 2nd, 2023, several sports teams from different universities gathered at the University of Eldoret to compete for the 15th edition KUSA Nationals championship.

Our Strathletes played Handball, Volleyball, Basketball, and Hockey, and remained unbeaten since the beginning of the games, flying the Strathmore flag high as they soared through to the National Games. The games were thrilling and exciting, with fans glued to the pitch cheering as Strathmore thrashed their opponents, securing victory and progressing to the semi-finals.

Early on Sunday morning, the sportsmen and women geared up in blue and red, hit the ground running, and emerged victorious. Strathmore University was crowned position one in the league.

  • Basketball: Blades (men) – Gold, Swords (ladies) – Silver
  • Hockey: Scorpions (ladies) – Gold, Gladiators (men) – Gold
  • Volleyball: Jaguars (men) – Gold, Panthers (ladies) – Gold
  • Handball: Tornadoes (men) – 4th Place

 

Rugby – Victory at the Mwamba Cup:

 

The Mwamba Cup is a knockout rugby tournament where rugby teams compete against each other, and the loser doesn’t proceed to the next level. The Leos, inspired by their motto “XXVII!” that steers them towards being the best at all times, won against Nondies Scripts 23-0 securing victory at the Cage (SU Sports Complex) on Saturday afternoon.
