TEP Seminar: Murang’a Diocese

The Teachers Enhancement Programme (TEP) seminar that hosted 36 participants from Murang’a Diocese was a success owing to the topics covered and the participation of everyone involved. The seminar ran from 18th to 22nd August.

The goal of the TEP course is to give participants understanding of different leadership styles and tools for effective financial management, improving teacher student relationship maintenance and management of the school facilities.

As part of giving back to the educational sector and society, Strathmore University frequently holds leadership training sessions for heads & deputies from high schools across Kenya. After completing the training, it is hoped that the teachers will in turn use these skills to transform their schools into centers of excellence.

The seminar sessions this time round, covered different thematic areas with the facilitators for the sessions drawn from faculties and managerial levels of the University. Themes such as Effective Team Leadership, Financial Management, Work Ethics and Leadership Challenges facing the principals were discussed.

In between the sessions, teachers had the opportunity of interacting and sharing their experiences one to another, as well as discussing the way forward.

The TEP programme is open to any stakeholders in the educational field.
