Swiss Ambassador to Kenya to give a talk at Strathmore

INVITATION TO STUDENTS;

KENYA MODEL UNITED NATIONS – STRATHMORE CHAPTER

DIPLOMATIC PERSPECTIVE

THEME: Youth making an impact on the world for posterity

Guest Speaker: Switzerland Ambassador to Kenya

VENUE: MANAGEMENT SCIENCE BUILDING (MSB 1)

DATE: 21ST FEBRUARY 2014

Strathmore KenyaMUN is a chapter of Kenya Model United Nations (KenyaMUN) which is an authentic simulation of the UN General Assembly and its other functions. Although each MUN Simulation is independent from each other all over the globe, they all have a common goal, which include increasing international diplomatic understanding and developing the art of peaceful negotiation among potential national and international leaders.

KenyaMUN has given many young people in Kenya an opportunity to learn about the United Nations and its operations; it also gives participants an opportunity to learn about different cultures and countries through heading delegations, attending diplomatic Summits and Perspectives as well as other global simulations. This gives young people the chance to broaden their horizon on world issues. KenyaMUN is currently in 18 Universities (both private and public) around the country and has a membership base of over 800 members from these universities.

The diplomatic perspective is an important event in the Strathmore KenyaMUN calendar. During this event, we invite Ambassadors as well as other diplomats to address the members of the club as well as other students in the University. This address ought to touch on various world issues as well as encourage the students as youth to be the very best they can be. We believe that having people from various embassies and high commissions in the country will help expose the students to an international world view and broaden our mindsets. This is why we have organized a diplomatic perspective.

You are all most welcome!
