Sunesis partners with @iLabAfrica in MS Excel training

The Microsoft Excel training moderated by the Sunesis Consulting came to a close on 16th May.
The two-day training held at iLab Africa themed the ‘Power of Dashboard Reporting in Excel‘, marked the first ever partnership between Sunesis and @iLabAfrica, an IT research lab, at Strathmore University.
The training aimed at making easy the use of MS Excel as a business intelligence tool. This is because MS Excel, which is part of Microsoft Office Suite, is readily available and accessible, however research shows that its funtionalities are under-utilized by users.
Giving a general overview, data analyst Mark Munyiri, of Sunesis confirms that about 65% of practitioners who prepare financial statements and reports on a regular basis, either underutilize the program features or they do not use them at all, inspite of all benefits and adaptability to what one wants.
It was to address these gaps that Sunesis Kenya started partnering with business firms in offering training for managerial reporting since 2006. The IT consultancy firm deals with training, data solutions and data analysis. In doing this, they aim at maximizing on managerial reporting which is efficient enabling data presentations that are easily understood by all users, be they experts or otherwise.
These aims are accomplished through training of essential components such as dashboard reporting in Excel where one is able to analyze the profits and revenues of the organization.
According to Munyiri, if the data input is correct, then the output is correct as well. It is therefore essential that users , especially those in finance sector, harness and refine data collection and correct data presentation.
The event was successful as it left participants in this training drawn from different managerial departments enlightened and empowered.
The training finally came to a close with the program manager Mr. Patrick Ngotho thanking all the participants as they were were awarded certificates of participation by Dr. Joseph Sevilla, Director of @iLabAfrica.
