Students Loan Repayment

The Financial Aid Office’ mandate is to deal with the administration and management of the University’s student financial aid programs.

Their products are:

  • Loans
  • Scholarships
  • Work-study program
  • College counselling

Strathmore has been giving students loans from various sources in the last couple of year; Strathmore University Loans, HELB Loans, KIVA and Merit Loans.

After students successfully complete their undergraduate degrees, their loan repayment period starts a year after graduation. Upon completion of the loan repayment, Strathmore University issues a loan repayment completion certificate – the certificate of clearance.

It is with this in mind that three graduates, were delightfully awarded with certificates of clearance on 20th June, after fully repaying their student loans even before the repayment period was over.

The three Chepng’eno Lilian – currently working at I&M Bank: Nzioka Reza Matheka – currently working at ICEA lion group: Mwangi Rosemary Wanja – currently working at Ken bright Actuarial and Financial Services Ltd, had been studying on KIVA loans for their undergraduate.

Other students who have fully repaid their tuition loans include;

Kipruto Leilah Chepchirchir- SU Loan; Oluoch Justus Haggari- KIVA loans; Mururu Brenda Mwendwa- KIVA loans; Donie Golanda – KIVA loans; and Quinter Odongo –KIVA loans among others.

The office urges graduates with loans to work at paying their dues in order to assist other needy students to benefit in future.
