Strathmore University Wins Academy of Business in Society Award

Grace Ndungu – Director Agribusiness Programme and Special Projects - receives award from Count Etienne Davington- Belgian Minister of State & Honorary Advisory Board Chairman, ABIS assisted by Alfons Sauquet, Chairman of the Board of Directors, ABIS.

Strathmore University won the Academy of Business in Society’s Global Sustainability Award that was held in Brussels, Belgium on 16th November, 2017.

The Global Sustainability award seeks to appreciate and recognize institutions for their efforts in aligning their University vision and objectives to their country’s Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs).

The competition attracted applications from 22 universities globally, with only 9 universities shortlisted to submit their projects at the colloquium. The nine Universities were: Strathmore University,   Amsterdam University,   ESADE Business school, Copenhagen Business School, GKS, E4Impact (Educational Initiative in Africa in partnership with Catholica University (ITA)), ESMT Berlin, A2A – Italian Multiutilities Company, and Comillas University

Strathmore University submitted 3 Projects.

1) The 600KW solar system.

2) Agribusiness Programs at Strathmore Business School

3) The KCIC Incubator and Accelerator.

 

Over 200 Delegates attended the ABIS colloquium event, and they were required to voted for the projects presented. The final tally of the voting granted Strathmore University victory.
