Strathmore University to Host System, Mess and Anlagentechnik Training Academy

The Strathmore Energy Research Center (SERC) will host the launch of East Africa SMA Training Academy on Tuesday 30th June, 2015; a project sponsored by a German company that specializes on manufacturing inverters and controllers for power systems with solar SMA (System, Mess and Anlagentechnik), and KAM (Kenya Association of Manufacturers). The academy facilitators will include engineers from SMA Germany, SMA South Africa and engineers from Kenya.
The academy will train the engineers on fuel saving technology, providing expertise and advanced training tailored to participants on SMA products and photovoltaics. This technology will greatly reduce the cost of power production and its maintenance and since Kenyan engineers are not aware of this energy technology, SMA saw the need to open a training academy, Prof. Izael DA Silva, Deputy Vice Chancellor- Strathmore University explained.
SMA has developed a gadget known as fuel saver that will greatly cut down on the amount of fuel used to generate power.
