Strathmore University now member of top accrediting institution

Strathmore University is pleased to announce that it has been made a member of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

SBS Dean, Dr. George Njenga mentioned “We are now members of the AACSB which is the top accrediting institution of Management schools in the globe, which operates from the United States of America, making us the first in Eastern Africa.” AACSB is a global, nonprofit membership organization of educational institutions, businesses, and other entities devoted to the advancement of management education.

AACSB International advances quality management education worldwide through accreditation, thought leadership, and value-added services. It has been evaluating and accrediting educational quality of business education since 1916. It provides a rigorous peer review process for determining those schools that offer quality business management education. In making its accreditation evaluations, AACSB looks at the educational outcomes, and the processes that manage schools’ resources towards achievement of excellent quality in education delivery.

AACSB International strives to identify challenges and trends that are facing the business education industry through its research and various initiatives. The association also educates students, parents, employers, and counsellors about accreditation and how to choose a quality business degree program that will fit their needs.

What does this mean for Strathmore University?

Strathmore University has been established as an institution of quality business management training. The next step shall be to pursue international accreditation in order to be amongst the other 687 worldwide schools that have achieved AACSB international accreditation. This would confirm not only that we have achieved quality but that we have mechanisms in place for continuous improvement of the University’s educational offerings.

The ultimate criteria for decision-making within the AACSB accreditation process is a judgement of overall high quality. Through the professional judgement of the business schools administrators and corporate executives who comprise the peer review teams, an overall quality judgement results from the careful and detailed evaluation of this school on AACSB’s accreditation standards.

Dr. Njenga further mentioned “This membership shall open doors to a number of great opportunities not only for the institution but for the students as well. We are humbled to be among the few AACSB member institutions in Africa. We will continue to strive to remain a leading university school in the region and in Africa with international repute through developing and delivering quality programs as well as world-class executive management education”
