Kenyan teams dominated in the hockey, with Strathmore University winning women’s title as Kenyatta University took gold in the men’s category. Scorpions saw off USIU-A 2-0 on penalties after 0-0 draw, with Yvonne Karanja and Winner Odongo successfully converting to give their team gold.

 

Strathmore coach Meshack Senge was pleased with the results. “We should have won it in normal time had we taken our chances, but the girls never gave up,” Senge said.

 

Strathmore University’s men’s handball team retained their title after beating Ndejje 33-24 in the final. Ndejje won gold in the women’s competition as Mount Kenya University and Kampala International University went home with silver and bronze respectively. Uganda won gold in men’s and women’s basketball through Ugandan Christian University.
