The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) provides scholarships to graduate students registered in universities across the Eastern Africa region. The scholarship programme is very competitive and covers tuition fees, costs of research and a monthly stipend. Students are also eligible for a research stay in Germany for up to 6 months. Masters’ students are funded for up to two years, while PhD students are funded for up to 3 years. DAAD is currently offering Strathmore graduate students, scholarships in the fields of Mathematics, Information Technology and Healthcare Management.

The Scholarship programme seeks to strengthen and expand DAAD’s regional network of high-quality academic partners, offering development-related Master and PhD studies which are geared towards capacity building and strengthening of teaching and research staff. The regional network includes universities, research institutions and research networks from the East African Community member states, Ethiopia and South Sudan.

We congratulate our three DAAD scholars and wish them well in their studies.
