Strathmore Business Club CSR Visit

Strathmore Business Club was honored to visit Brydes Children’s Centre on the 26th of July, an orphanage that takes care of vulnerable children in the society such as, orphans, the homeless and the impoverished.

Brydges Children’s Centre offers shelter, food and education to the children aged between 3-20 years. The home is built on a 5.5 acre piece of land in Kitengela, a home facility that the center relocated to from Ngong in 2010.

It accommodates a total of eighty five children; twenty of whom have joined various universities and secondary schools. The centre is self-reliant in that it grows and harvests its own crops and fruits as well as own a variety of domestic animals, such as geese, turkeys, cows, and pigs.

The club participated in quite a number of interactive activities on the day; these included carrying out of chores at the center such as weeding of the farm, construction of a makeshift animal shelter and preparation of lunch, as well as mingling and playing games with the children. The club also made a food donation to the center.

The day was a success as the club made an impact in the lives of the children.

The Center’s Director who was quite ecstatic thanked everyone who came for their help in her closing remarks.

As a club the team took home quite a number of lessons, most notably the importance of sharing time with the needy in the society and creating an impact in other people’s lives.
