Strathmore Alumna becomes the new host of CNNs Inside Africa feature

Meet Soni Methu, a Strathmore alumna and the newest face of the longest running CNN feature program; Inside Africa. The Strathmore University DBIT graduate will present countries across the continent, taking viewers on a journey through Africa, exploring the true diversity and depth of different cultures, countries and regions.

She joins CNN International from ENCA and E News Africa, where she was East Africa correspondent for two years, reporting from hotspots Mombasa and Nairobi, including covering the Westgate Mall terrorist attack. During her career with ENCA she also reported from Somalia, South Sudan, Rwanda, Uganda and Tanzania, and was central to breaking key stories for the channel.
In 2014, Inside Africa has already covered a diverse mix of stories including: Kinshasas thriving art scene; a journey into the world of Ugandas mountain gorillas; how Madagascar’s natural medicines are growing in popularity worldwide; Mauritius coral reefs; South Africas finest wines; sand being used as a building material in Lamu, Kenya, and paradise partying in the Seychelles.
