Strathmores Scorpion Team Triumph at the KHU Womens National League

The Strathmore Scorpions hockey team played Jomo Kenyatta University of Technology (JKUAT) 6-0 in a Kenya Hockey Union (KHU) womens National League at City Park Stadium, Nairobi. The well-structured game saw the team win with a lot of discipline in positions and execution of systems of play.
The team started off on an attack mode, creating a penalty corner within the 1st minutes of the game. Managing the press opponents in their quarter saw the 1st goal scored in the 4th minute by Angela Mayaka from a set piece play which was a boost for the team. Angela then scored another sheet gain in the 10th minute via another set play.
On the 18th minute, Mitchelle Achieng added a 3rd goal for the team before Carol Njoki scored a 4th goal in the 30th minute. The team took a break with a 4-0 lead that gave the team the bragging rights to continue strong.
The second half of the game saw the players take to their feet without attacking their opponents goal area until the 48th minute, where they broke off on a quick counter attack to set up Ruth Adhiambo for a score. Carol Njoki scored the last goal of the match in the 63rd minute after a clinical pass from Yvonne Karanja who was the player of the match.
Coach Meshack Senge was proud of the win urging the students to keep at this spirit.
