A total of 203 Strathmore University staff members joined the staff giving fund noble cause that will see an amount of Kshs. 250,000 raised monthly, from November 2016. The monthly contributions will translate to over Kshs. 3 million per year.

 

In 2014, Strathmore University Advancement office together with some members of staff started the Staff Giving Campaign, with an idea of involving staff members interested in supporting students in need.  The campaign started with a total of 12 staff members giving monthly through payroll deduction.

 

Since then the Staff Giving Fund has grown to become a great platform for colleagues to financially have a direct impact in the lives of Strathmore students in need.

 

By September 2015, a total of 98 members were contributing to the Staff Giving Fund. The total number of staff giving has since increased to 512 at the close of this year’s campaign week.

 

The amount collected goes towards paying off accommodation expenses, giving monthly stipends, and giving out bursaries to needy students.

 

Through the Staff Giving Fund, each staff member has an opportunity to touch a life and be a star, investing in the future of a Strathmore student.
