In the spirit of interuniversity relations and collaborations, Strathmore hosted a delegation from St. Paul’s University for a benchmarking session. The team from St. Paul’s University consisted of  Rev. Dr. Zablon Bundi, DVC Finance and Administration; Rev. Truphie Kwaka-Sumba, Nairobi Campus Principal; Dr. John Muhoho – Dean – Faculty of Business, Computer, Communication Studies; James Mururi – Registrar – Administration; Michael Mungai – Deputy Manager – Corporate Affairs; Wallace Njau – Finance Manager and Dr. Ruth Ndanu – Deputy Registrar Academics.

The Strathmore team was led by Mr. Stephen Ng’ang’a, Registrar Academics; Mr Eric Saulo, Director, Partnerships; Prof Rachel Mbogo, Dean, Research and Innovation; Stephen Momanyi, Director, ICT; Fr. Charles Mundia, University Chaplain; Ivy Muthoni, Associate Manager, Career Development Services; Anne Riungu, Manager, Strathmore Research Consultancy Centre, and Caroline Thongoro.

Prof. Peter Ngure reiterated the need for this benchmarking exercise to provide St. Paul’s team with the opportunity to self-reflect and understand the processes of strategy formulation and implementation for development and decision-making purposes.

Strathmore staff made presentations focused on the following areas: Student Life Cycle Management, Partnerships, Research Management, ICT and e-learning systems, Chaplaincy and the Examination department. This was followed by an engaging Q&A session.

In her closing remarks, Rev. Truphie Kwaka-Sumba, who is a PhD candidate at the Strathmore University Business School (SBS), expressed her gratitude on behalf of St. Paul’s University for the informative session on their areas of interest. She stated that the benchmarking visit will go a long way in identifying areas for improvement and setting targets for institutional developments in their University.
