Graduates in CPA, ACCA and other prize Winners from the 1st semester of 2013 took the field to the cheers and applause of family members and friends on Friday, 11^th October 2013 at the Strathmore Graduation square to mark yet another milestone for the Strathmore school of accountancy (SOA).

 

The CEO/Board secretary, Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), Mr. Charles Ringera presided over the ceremony and spoke to the graduates about public service, urging them to go beyond borders for their job search and career growth.

 

In her address, Ms. Jane Kilonzo, The Chairperson SOA alumni called on the graduates to carry the name of Strathmore with dignity and see it soar to even greater heights.

 

Also gathered with the Strathmore School of Accountancy community to honor its graduating students was Mr. James G Nduati – Director of Finance KASNEB,MsHamida A Mwilu – Marketing and Publications KASNEB, Mr. Antony Kariuki – Head of ACCA Kenya, and Mr. George Njari – Head of Education & Development Eastern Africa ACCA.

 

Strathmore has over the last 50 years trained some of the most accomplished accountants in the region and this year’s graduating class of 147 in CPA, 80 in ACCA and the 43 prize Winners from the 1st semester of 2013 marked a continuation of this revered tradition.

 

As the graduates took that once-in-a-lifetime walk across the Strathmore graduation square, where the guests of honor, and faculty were gathered to confer certificates, there was truly a sense that an important chapter in the lives of these students had ended and a new and exciting future awaits them.
