SFAE students to enjoy internship placements at Burbidge Capital

Strathmore School of Finance and Applied Economics (SFAE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Burbidge Capital on Thursday, 9th October 2014.  The MOU will enhance the relationship between SFAE and the company, seeking to assist more students from the school to secure internships and job opportunities at the company. Burbidge Capital will annually take third year students from SFAE for internship placements at its company.

 

Burbidge Capital is a Kenyan Limited Liability company, founded by Edward Burbidge in May 2010. Its mandate is to provide corporate financial advisory services to companies in East Africa with a subsidiary in Uganda and a broad presence in sub Saharan Africa. The company is corporate finance advisory firm and an investment advisor regulated by the Capital Markets Authority (CMA). It is also a licensed Nominated Advisor (NomAd) by the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE), for the Growth Enterprise Market Segment (GEMS) creating long term advisory relationships & solutions across Eastern Africa.

 

Speaking at the event, Dr. John Olukuru, Dean of SFAE mentioned that the school is happy to collaborate with the industry to ensure molding of top professionals.

 

SFAE has set itself apart as the school of excellence in quantitative analysis. It currently offers Bachelor of Business Science (BBS) degree programmes that lead to distinct degree qualifications in; BBS Actuarial Science, BBS Finance and BBS Financial Economics. The school is keen to advance knowledge through research and partnership, and to prepare its students to positively contribute to the society.
