SFAE Hosts Student Actuaries from across the Country for a Software Training

Student Actuaries from across the country were on, Friday February 12th, hosted by Strathmore’s School of Finance and Applied Economics (SFAE) for a full day software training courtesy of FIS (former SunFard); a company that works at empowering the financial world. The training was also in collaboration with TASK – the Actuarial Society of Kenya.

 

During the course, students were involved with learning;

  • How to set up a liability product;
  • How to generate and run profit tests;
  • How to set up test data and report on the results.

The course covered most areas of prophet software’s professional functionality which included practical references that reinforced the learning. Students also took part in making actuarial decisions about a product, assessing what effects those decisions having their results and reporting on their products.

 

Mr. Omair Deen from FIS took the students through the full day training where he included Q&A sessions, group discussions and even quizzes.
