The rise of Sub Saharan Africa – Europe migration is a crisis that cannot be ignored. More than 2.3 million illegal migrants entered the EU in 2015 and 2016, and over 2,000 people are believed to have lost their lives attempting to make that crossing in the first half of 2017 alone.

Meanwhile, 70% of sub-Saharan Africa’s population is under the age of 30 and facing limited opportunities for their future. As population growth explodes exponentially, Europe can expect a continuing migration boom of up to tens of millions of people over the next decade, unless the quality of life and economic opportunity for Africans is substantially improved.

A major driver for economic and social development is access to reliable energy sources. However, many of today’s energy solutions in Africa are driven by development goals that don’t necessarily yield practical and immediate results.

The Fuel Freedom Foundation, in partnership with IESE Business School and Strathmore Business School, are focused on providing solutions by using proven scalable business approaches that address this problem at its source and provide economic opportunities to millions of Africans.

The keynote address will be from international global entrepreneur and philanthropist Joseph “Yossie” Hollander as he discusses creating and investing in sustainable energy solutions for developing economies as a solution to the EU migrant crisis. Mr. Hollander is a successful global businessman and Chairman and Co-Founder of Fuel Freedom Foundation.

There will also be a panel of experts from IESE, Fuel Freedom and Strathmore Business School who will discuss how to tackle energy poverty and decrease migration to Europe in a unique new way.

The will take place on 13^th June 2018 in Munich- IESE Campus.
