On Friday, 2nd August 2013, Dr. Ismael Ateya on behalf of Dean of IT Dr. Reuben Marwanga, and ICDL Manager Kenya, Mr. Etinick Mutinda awarded certificates to the top students from the International Computer Driving Licence (ICDL) class. 63 out of the 79 students who completed the course were awarded certificates. This is the very first group to complete the ICDL course in Strathmore University since this course was launched in January 2013. The course takes two and a half months and the next intake will be in August.
About ICDL
International Computer Driving Licence (ICDL) is an International Standard for end-user computing comprising 7 modules. The qualification is platform and product independent. This means that the ICDL is not tied to one type of software. It therefore gives candidates the flexibility and freedom to acquire core IT skills and confidently apply them in any software environment they may be required to use.
The ICDL Core consists of the following Modules:
- Module 1 – Concepts of Information Technology
- Module 2 – Using a Computer and Managing Files
- Module 3 – Word Processing
- Module 4 Spreadsheets
- Module 5 Database
- Module 6 Presentation
- Module 7 – Information and Communication
We congratulate the students for having successfully completed this course.
