Dean FIT, Dr. Reuben Marwanga nominated to ICT Taskforce

Congratulations are in order to applaud Dr. Reuben Marwanga, who was recently nominated as a member in a National ICT Taskforce under the Ministry of Information Communications and Technology. Dr. Marwanga is the Dean of the Faculty of Information and Technology in Strathmore University. Dr. Marwanga has vast experience and knowledge in IT sector, and his nomination undoubtedly puts Strathmore on the national map.

 

Dr. Marwanga holds a PhD in Industrial Engineering from Penn State University, a Masters in Industrial Engineering & Management from Fourah Bay College and a BS (Honors) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nairobi. He is an Alumnus of both Fulbright and UNESCO Fellowships. Currently, he is the Dean, Faculty of Information Technology at Strathmore University and teaches courses in information systems, innovation and entrepreneurship, research methods and operations management. Dr. Marwanga has extensive teaching experience in technology and management.

 

Prior to joining Strathmore, he taught at the Graduate School of Management and Technology at the University of Maryland University College, Maryland, USA. He has also previously taught at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland, USA; United States International University in Nairobi; and the University of Nairobi. During his academic career he has taught a variety of technology and management courses including information systems, strategic management for technology and innovation, operations management, quantitative methods for management, product design, project management, project risk management, scheduling and resource allocation, operations research and manufacturing systems. His research interests include: information systems & management, supply chain management, business process management, operational issues in business & government and innovation & entrepreneurship.
