Copy Cat Group has signed a memorandum of understanding with Strathmore University @ILabAfrica Research Centre to collaborate in driving innovations across the Internet of Things.

 

The MOU was signed by Dr. Joseph Sevilla, the dir­ector of @iLabAfrica and Mr. Vishal Patel, Executive Director at The Copy Cat Limited. 

 

The collaboration is meant to enable key collaboration in Research and Development in areas such as Internet of Everything/Internet of Things, Innovation by building new tech solutions that meet the needs of the dynamic market such as smart mall, smart parking and smart cities solutions, funding, mentorship, training and incubation of successful ventures and together organize tech events such as Hack-a-thons and Tech Challenges and Pitch Fridays

 

“The “Internet of things” (IoT) is becoming an increasingly growing topic of conversation both in the workplace and outside of it. It’s a concept that not only has the potential to impact how we live but also how we are working this day and age. We therefore, have to embrace this at the earliest and that why we decided to partner with iLab and see what we can achieve together, Said Vishal Patel.

 

@iLabAfrica is a Centre of Excel­lence in ICT innov­a­tion and Devel­op­ment set up in Janu­ary 2011. It is an inde­pend­ent entity in the Fac­ulty of Inform­a­tion Tech­no­logy at Strath­more Uni­ver­sity. It was estab­lished to address the Mil­len­nium Devel­op­ment Goals (MDGs) and to con­trib­ute toward Kenya’s Vis­ion2030. The research cen­ter is involved in inter­dis­cip­lin­ary research, student’s engage­ment, col­lab­or­a­tion with gov­ern­ment, industry and other fund­ing agen­cies.
