Charity at Home: COP’s visit to Madaraka Primary School

Service to mankind equals service to God: With this knowledge, the 10 day exercise signifying Strathmore University Community Outreach Program’s 10th anniversary, was crowned with a special activity towards Strathmore’s home neighbor school, Madaraka Primary. A program that involved painting the school’s classroom doors and walls, giving the educational institution a face-lift in its look.

The University’s long term cordial relationship with the school goes way back, recounting numerous activities undertaken by both institutions such as mentorship exercises, sending of success cards during exam periods as well as going into environmental friendly endeavors such as planting trees and clearing of grass among other activities.

Mrs. Jane Munene- Head teacher Madaraka Primary School, acknowledged the university’s helpful hand, which has led the children towards the path way to success. The mentorship programs have made the doors of success more vivid.

Principal Munene with great satisfaction also acclaimed the tremendous success the school has recorded, holding position 4 in the National KCPE examination, out of the 15 primary schools in Langata constituency.

With charity calling at home, SU COP alumna, also came to be part of the heartwarming exercise. Echoing the spirit of giving and serving mantra, the team were happy to be involved while  encouraging the students on hard work that pays.

The activities for the day left Madaraka Primary with a new look. Something that will surely light the smiles of the children, every day they carry their bags to attend school.
