CfC Stanbic Bank Awards Scholarships

Seven lucky students will realize their education dreams following the awarding of Full Four Year Scholarships by CfC Stanbic Bank. This initiative that follows a well-established relationship between Strathmore University and the Bank, awarded the students 11 million in grant for their studies.
In its framework, the two parties memorandum of understanding structurally seeks to assist more students, especially the destitute, to get access to quality education and secure internship placements as well as employment opportunities explored by the sponsors.
An occasion moderated by the Dean of Students- Mr. Paul Ochieng saw members of the academic board at Strathmore University in attendance; Dr. George Njenga-Dean Strathmore Business School, Dr. John Olukuru- Dean School of Finance and Applied Economics, together with associates from the CfC Stanbic Bank group, among them, Mr. Greg Brackenridge- Chief Executive CfC Stanbic Bank Kenya.
Mr. Brackenridge expressed his excitement in working with SU, attesting to the great talent he has seen come to life through the students. He advised the students on the huge opportunities available for them; enumerating the core purpose of the group to spearhead the Pan African spirit through functional banking concept, playing a crucial role in development.
Similar sentiments followed suit with Dr Njenga urging benefactors to deliver quality and uphold good moral character learnt from Strathmore. He also urged the bank to look at sponsoring children in marginalized areas such as Samburu, Lodwar and Marsabit who are not able to join universities such as Strathmore due to lack of funds.
Mr Ochieng inspired the students to step into the world and be the next game changers, drawing his examples from Alumni John Kotieno and Davis Karambi, whom being benefactors of similar sponsorships, had made outstanding contributions in the entrepreneurial world through the concept of community development.
The scholarship benefactors who comprised of six ladies and a gentleman were carefully selected for different courses at the university: There was emphasis on picking more ladies to gentlemen, an angle which the Dean of Students hopes will encourage more ladies to apply for scholarships in future.
The scholarships awarded were for the following courses:
Bachelor of Commerce
Bachelor of Business Information Technology
Bachelor of Business Science Financial Economics
Bachelor of Business Science Actuarial Science
Bachelor of Laws
We wish all the benefactors the best in their studies.
