2^nd Year Bachelor of Arts in Communications (BAC) students received a talk on the film industry from 3 specialists in the field; Jennifer Gatero – Associate Director Avant Films – Winnie Adisa – Director Kinetic Films – and Caroline Kemunto Momanyi – Writer/Producer Kinetic Films.

The three gave insights into what it takes to produce a film, how to determine an audience for the film, how to make money from the film industry, the challenges facing the film industry in Kenya and how to overcome them, and the roles films play in the social economic development in Kenya.

The experts also discussed which option comes first; the audience or the type of film, highlighting tips on making short films while giving 5-minute presentations on films they have produced.

It was an informative session as seen by the students’ engagement and from the many questions they asked.
