The Strathmore University Human Resources Forum was held on Friday, 11^th November 2016 organized by the School of Management and Commerce (SMC) for students specializing in Human Resource (HR). The event was graced by keynote speaker Catherine Khabure, Head of Africa HR and the Human Resources manager at Diageo (previously EABL).

 

Ms. Khabure discussed the importance of authenticity and integrity, stating that these two characters are highly valued qualities in a good HR professional, alongside standing firm to what is right without exceptions. The students also benefitted from an enlightening roundtable discussion from industry experts from companies that included; Save the Children-International, Unilever, Stanbic Bank, Diageo (EABL), Mobile Decision Africa, Techno Brain, Five Talents Africa, Nairobi Water and Sewerage Company Limited, KPMG, Standard Chartered Bank, Proctor & Allan, and General Electric. The forum offered an amazing opportunity for the students to learn some of the soft skills required in the HR job market as they prepare to go out to start their professional careers.
