Strathmore University Advancement Office is set to host its annual Staff Giving Week campaign from 18th – 22nd September, 2017, targeting to bring on board 100 new staff members.

In 2014, Strathmore University Advancement office together with some members of staff started the Staff Giving Campaign, with an idea of involving staff members interested in supporting students in need.  The campaign started with a total of 12 staff members giving monthly through payroll deduction. These contributions have seen more than 53 Strathmore University students attain financial support through the form of accommodation, bursary, meal allowance and stipends. To date, over 200 staff members are involved with the noble cause.

This year, the Advancement Office intends to create more awareness about the giving through visiting different departments, explaining the need for more staff members to get involved. A tent will also be pitched outside the Student Centre building throughout the week to facilitate for more signups into the fund raising program. Staff members can also participate through buying raffle tickets, in an effort to raise more money for the initiative.

The campaign week will culminate with the Vice Chancellor’s Cocktail event that will take place at the auditorium on Friday 22^nd, September, 2017.

Last year, the monthly contributions from staff members stood at Kshs. 250,000 per month, translating to over Kshs. 3 Million in the year.

Through the fund, staff members get the golden opportunity to touch the lives of Strathmore students in a special way.
