Strathmore University School of Accountancy (SOA) held its annual graduation ceremony, bringing together family and friends to celebrate the successful completion of graduands accounting courses. 131 ACCA and CPA finalists from December 2016 to June 2017, were awarded with certificates.

The colorful event kicked off at 11.00 am with a word of prayer from Fr. Paul Mimbi – the University Chaplain.

The Chief Guest at the event was Mr. Anthony Wang’ondu – Director Supply Chain at Davis & Shirtliff. Mr. Wang’ondu lauded the graduands on their achievements, urging them to stand out as noble citizens in the society, borrowing from ethos taught and emulated at Strathmore. Other guests at the event included Mr. George Njari – Head of Education and Development ACCA Eastern Africa; Mr. Geoffrey Ochieng – National Sales Manager ACCA Kenya and; Mr. Steve Obuogo – Education Development Manager ACCA Kenya; Ms Christabel Osango – Deputy Director, Examinations Processing KASNEB; Ms Hamida Mwilu – Manager, Marketing KASNEB

The ever jovial don Dr. James Boyd McFie – Principal SOA, took time to implore graduands not to rest on their successes, but instead go into the world and make a contribution. He challenged the graduands to solve societal problems, reminding them to uphold the Strathmore reputation.

Mr. Patrick Kibui (Principal Strathmore Institute of Management and Technology), a renowned educationist with words of wisdom drawn from his long career in the civil service, encouraged graduands to maintain integrity in their work as it pays off in the end. He exemplified this advice by recounting his past experiences and the fruits he bore when he stood for what is right. According to Mr. Kibui, his longevity in his career was because of his forthrightness in his work, something he does not regret.

Congratulations to the graduating class.
