Academic Staff trained in Scientific Communication and Publishing:

The Strathmore University Research Office in collaboration with the Writing Centre (SHSS) organised a three-day course  for academic staff members from all schools. The training benefited from the expert facilitation by the Training Centre in Communication (TCC) an institution hosted at the University of Nairobi. The Research Office and the Writing Centre are working on a mutual arrangement with TCC to establish an in-house training capacity to independently role out similar  courses for staff members within the University.

The course aimed at inspiring upcoming researchers to get their work written up in an appropriate format, selection of appropriate journal or publication forum and tips on successfully dealing with the editorial process. The course comprised of three modules; Scientific Writing and Publishing, Graphic methods for data analysis and use of SPSS and oral communication and presentation and networking.

The Research Office and TCC will jointly work to support the trainees to progress in their specific areas of interest, especially in work related to publishing papers that are in the pipeline.
