Strathmore University was awarded 1st Runner-Up in the Learning and Development Category at the 2025 Federation of Kenya Employers (FKE) Employer of the Year Awards (EYA) held at Radisson Blu, Upperhill on Friday, November 7, 2025.
This year, 85 organisations submitted entries, out of which 51 were shortlisted and assessed. The assessment involved a rigorous two-day audit by FKE, during which the People and Culture team were tasked with providing documented evidence across multiple categories showcasing the University’s excellence. In particular, the assessment looked at how the University connects its learning and development efforts to its overall goals, how it supports staff growth through training, mentorship, and coaching, and how it helps employees develop their talents and grow into future leaders. It also recognised our commitment to inclusivity, our use of new and creative ways of learning, and our contribution to building skills across Kenya. Other categories in the awards included: Leadership & Governance, Corporate Governance, Innovation & Productivity, Responsible Business Conduct, Inclusiveness & Diversity, Workplace Environment, Human Resource Practice & Industrial Relations, and the overall Employer of the Year Award.
This recognition is a testament to the University’s dedication to the Transformative Staff Experience pillar and one of our core values: life-long learning. At Strathmore, we believe that our greatest strength lies in our people; their skills, expertise, and dedication continue to drive our collective success. At the heart of Strathmore lies a deep commitment to fostering a supportive and developmental environment. Through our Leadership Academy and academic programmes, we nurture a culture of lifelong learning and empower staff members to grow, learn, and reach their fullest potential.
