On June 27, 2025, as they don their graduation gowns and cross the stage, Afua Keddey, Linda Ndegwa, and Wendy Wanjiru will be celebrating more than just earning their Bachelor of Laws degrees from Strathmore University. They will also be marking years of creativity, resilience, and digital impact, balancing academic rigour with the ever-evolving world of content creation.
In a digital era where storytelling is king, these three young women have carved out their own lanes, merging the analytical mind of a lawyer with the imagination of a creator. Each has built a personal brand and cultivated online communities while mastering case law, drafting legal opinions, and preparing for their futures in the legal and digital worlds.
Afua Keddey, Linda Ndegwa and Wendy Wanjiru, all students of Bachelor of Laws, are into content creation. Afua (Ghanaian), whose target audience is Ghanaians and Kenyans, focuses on showcasing certain aspects of her culture. This includes Ghanaian lifestyle and cultural beliefs.
Linda Ndegwa, on the other hand, focuses on travel content where she dives deep into advertising and showcasing some of the best travel destinations where people can go and unwind, enjoy the ambience, and have good meals as well.
Wendy Wanjiru’s content focuses on an affordable, enjoyable, healthy lifestyle. Her aim is to teach people about the importance of wellness and self-care that do not require a lot of economic output. All these are contents that can engage any audience depending on their preference.
Fueled by passion, these young creators carve out time from their grueling study schedules to deliver fresh content to their growing audiences. For them, the camera is a form of escape, a breather from academic pressure. But the reality is tough. Their course is demanding, their deadlines relentless. Balancing the weight of education with the world of content creation is a high-wire act. Still, they push through, sacrificing sleep and social time, all to make sure every post, every reel, every frame meets the high bar they have set for themselves and their viewers.
Why TikTok Reigns Supreme
Though they share their content across all social media platforms, one stands out as the undisputed favorite, TikTok. With its unmatched ability to deliver viral reach and organic growth, TikTok has become their stage of choice. Its built-in studio simplifies editing and scheduling, giving creators a professional edge without the technical hassle. More than that, it’s fun, intuitive, and welcoming, a perfect playground for creativity.
What Drives Them
Afua: Content creation gives me the opportunity to learn about a lot of things, from filmmaking, editing, graphic design, time management, to resilience. It also enables me to test ideas on others. Education is King, and I love it.
Wendy: I love content creation because it is a powerful form of self-expression. It allows me to share my journey, connect with like-minded people, and inspire others in ways I never imagined. The dynamic nature of content keeps things exciting. I’m always learning and evolving.
Linda: Content creation really helps me express myself and connect with many people. I get to hone my skills, share my experiences, and in doing so, find a sense of wholeness. It helps me strike a healthy balance between my academic and personal life.
The Wins
Afua: My biggest win so far has been educating people about my culture. But I haven’t achieved enough yet. Watch out for me.
Wendy: Growing my organic hair care brand while building my personal brand has been a major achievement. Content creation has empowered me to step into my confidence and own my voice.
Linda: My proudest moment is finding a community that appreciates what I create. Through that, I have landed multiple job offers to manage social media content for various businesses and organizations.”
Words to the Next Generation
Their journey doesn’t stop here. Afua, Wendy, and Linda are committed to carrying their content creation journey into the future, and they’re rooting for others to do the same. Their advice? Be authentic, stay passionate, and keep creating.
“There’s no perfect time to start,” Wendy emphasizes. “No perfect camera. Just start where you are, with what you have. That’s how all great creators begin.”
As they graduate on June 27, 2025, these three content queens remind us that creativity and scholarship are not mutually exclusive. They are proof that it’s possible to study the law by day, and inspire the world by night. With phones in hand, ideas in mind, and purpose in heart, Afua, Linda, and Wendy are ready to take on the future, one post at a time.
