Daudi Kirabo Makumbi Mawejje joined Strathmore University with a mix of both fear and ambition. “I thought my journey would be seamless, with no twists and turns,” he commenced. To his surprise, his Diploma in Business Information Technology was met with a roller coaster of twists and turns.
However, today he embraces the challenges, as they were the ones that gave him a chance to emerge victorious. His pride stems from the fact that he had the opportunity to experience the Strathmore environment, as he cherishes every moment spent here.

The Diploma in Business Information was no walk in the park for Daudi. He spent countless sleepless nights and traded much of his leisure time for hours in the library, determined to master every concept the course threw his way. Campus journey to him meant taking the bull by its horns and facing his challenges head-on. His daring nature led him to be stronger than he thought. One of his plans is to maximize the use of available technology to improve his life and the lives of those around him. “I love what technology stands for in today’s world since it is intertwined with every aspect of life,” he said.
He draws inspiration from marathon legend Eliud Kipchoge’s words, “No human is limited.” Daudi firmly believes he has what it takes to change the world through the power of technology. It’s one of his boldest dreams. Daudi shares that choosing this course was about building a lifelong career in a field he was truly passionate about. He believes Business and IT are his true calling. Recently, he completed the Apple Swift App Development Course at Strathmore and proudly emerged among the top three in his class at graduation, a moment that reaffirmed his commitment to excellence.
His journey was filled with learning, creativity and aspects of problem solving. As part of the course, he developed a unique application that would revolutionize blood donation and ultimately save billions of lives. Excitedly, he says he can’t wait to unveil it to the world in the coming months
Daudi has since embarked on his Bachelor’s degree in Business Information Technology, eager to explore new frontiers while continuing to give his all. He is also developing an innovative payment system for the transport industry and is thrilled to see how the project takes shape.
Daudi chose Strathmore University due to its good reputation regionally and globally. He has benefited greatly from meeting new people and networking. During his Diploma journey, Daudi was also an active member of the Archery Club, where he honed his focus, discipline, and precision.
In his free time, Daudi enjoys watching series, spending time outdoors with friends, playing golf, exploring new restaurants, experimenting with programming techniques, and meeting new people.
His advice to new students is, “Join Strathmore University with a mindset that goes beyond academics.” He believes that such a perspective opens doors to one’s fullest potential, empowering students to achieve more, grow beyond their beginnings, and become the best versions of themselves.
He also emphasized the importance of respect, calling it a true ticket to prosperity and all good things in life. To him, respect transcends age and status, regardless of one’s age, as the future remains unpredictable.
Looking ahead, Daudi aspires to pursue a Master’s in Data Science after completing his degree.
He credits his success to the unwavering support of his loved ones, including family, friends, and mentors, whose encouragement and belief have kept him grounded and inspired throughout his journey.
He deeply appreciates the lifelong friendships and meaningful connections he built along the way, bonds that, to him, mean the world.
Closing his reflections, Daudi shared that it was a great honor to be the Valedictorian of the Graduating Class of 2025, representing students across the various diploma and certificate programs. The experience, he said, was both humbling and inspiring.
“This is a testament that even one year can be turned into a legacy, with courage and people as the two most important ingredients,” he concluded.
