MSc. Computing and Information Systems

MSc-CIS is an innovative programme with an integrated dynamic delivery covering a wide range of Information Systems and Computing topics.

It is designed to prepare candidates to become specialists in the Information Technology (IT) needs of modern businesses, especially at the middle and senior levels of organisations.

  • The programme is a conversion course structured with broader goal of creating a deep level of knowledge and understanding in core areas such as Software Development, Systems Security, Mobile and Networking Technologies, Data Science and Computing.

Candidates are prepared to work as Software designers and developers, Database developers, Information Technology Consultants, Web designers and developers, Systems analysts, IT/IS managers, Network engineers, Data scientist, Middle and Senior level managers in IT.

The candidates may further their previous careers with a strong understanding on how IT can suitably be applied in their own discipline.

The following shall be eligible for admission into Master of Science in Computer Based Information:

1. Holders of First Class or Upper Second Class degrees in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Environmental Science, or a science related discipline from recognised universities; or

2. Holders of Lower Second Class degrees in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Environmental Science, or a science related discipline from recognised universities or at least 2.5 GPA plus Postgraduate Diplomas or Certificates in relevant fields of study; or with at least two years working experience in the energy sector or research environment.

3. Holders of other related qualifications from recognised universities considered by the Academic Council as equivalent to the criteria in (i) or (ii).
