MATUMAINI Scholarships for MSc in Biomathematics

Applications are now open for the MSc in Biomathematics based in the Strathmore’s Institute of Mathematical Sciences (SIMS), Strathmore University, May 2023 intake.
Background
MATUMAINI refers to Modelling Analysis to understand mental health and HIV/AIDS in Hotspots. It is a collaborative project, MATUMAINI, supported by the NIH-funded grant, “Can mental health services break the cycle perpetuating HIV hotspots in sub-Saharan Africa?”.
The programme is open to graduates from degree courses with a substantial quantitative methods content (specifically statistics, applied mathematics and/or computer science elements).
The programme will expose you to core health research, applied mathematics and computer science modules, with the opportunity to obtain specialised knowledge along applied mathematics track, computer science track, or a combination. Training is grounded in the computational science approach to address important health research questions, including theory alongside practical application.
We are happy to announce that scholarships are available from the Strathmore’s Institute of Mathematical Sciences (SIMS) – Biomathematics MSc Scholarships for students of the May 2023 intake.
Requirements
To be eligible for these scholarships:
1. You must be awarded a place in the MSc Biomathematics programme at Strathmore University.
2. Applicants must demonstrate a deep understanding of what BioMathematics entails both in practice and experience.
3. Applicants must demonstrate passion for the health sciences, mathematics, statistics and computer sciences.
4. Applicants must have completed undergraduate degree.
5. Minimum qualification; at least second class upper division.
