From boardrooms to creative studios, financial markets to tech hubs, Strathmore alumni are shaping the future of Africa with bold vision and unshakable purpose. This year, four extraordinary women from our community have earned a place in Business Daily Africa’s Top 40 Under 40 Women 2025, a recognition reserved for trailblazers who are rewriting the rules of leadership.

Their journeys are powerful testaments of courage, resilience, and transformation. Each alumna embodies the Strathmore spirit of daring to innovate, empowering communities, and leading with purpose. Today, we honor them as architects of change, whose influence extends far beyond our campus, shaping industries, inspiring generations, and redefining what leadership means in our time.

Here are the four:

Yvonne Kagondu

The Founder of ICP Hub Kenya, where she has empowered over 1,000 young Kenyans with skills in Web3 programming and has incubated several start-ups addressing some of Africa’s most urgent challenges. Her current ambition is to inspire more innovations from our developers, ultimately creating additional job opportunities for Kenyans. Yvonne is an alumnus of Strathmore University, having earned a Bachelor of Business Science in Financial Economics in 2018.

Orge Godana

The Chief Financial Officer of Java House Africa Group, leading the commercial efforts of the group’s entities in the region. Her most significant accomplishment lies in nurturing individuals and witnessing them realize their aspirations. She is an alumnus of Strathmore University, graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce in 2012.

Monicah Mwaniki

The co-founder of Arvocap Asset Managers and one of only two female CEOs leading asset fund managers in Kenya. Her company is among the fastest-growing financial institutions, boasting an asset base exceeding Sh1.5 billion and continuing to expand. Monicah is fueled by a strong ambition for growth and is a proud alumna of Strathmore University, having earned her Master’s in Commerce in 2013.

Sylvia Getata

The Founder and Creative Director of Purple Tulips Ltd, which commands nearly 90 percent of the event décor market on Kenya’s Coast, transforming venues into stages for moments that matter and raising the bar for professionalism in the creative sector. She has redefined what excellence looks like in event design and décor. She is a Strathmore Alumni, Owner Management Program Class of 2017.
