CPA: Certified Public Accountants
A course in Accountancy serves as a basis for a career in many professional fields for example, Engineering, Law, Architecture, Medicine, Dentistry, or Building Economics.
A basic knowledge of Accountancy gives the necessary background to run one’s future business according to sound financial principles.
To become a Certified Public Accountant you must first pass the CPA examinations of the Kenya Accountants and Secretaries National Examination Board (KASNEB) after attaining one of the following:
- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Examination with an aggregate average of at least a grade C plus (C+). KASNEB will evaluate any marginal cases on their own merit.
- Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education (KACE) with at least TWO Principal passes provided that the applicant has credits in Mathematics and English at Kenya Certificate of Education (KCE) level.
- IGSE 6 credits including English and Mathematics and GCE 3B's
- Kenya Accounting Technicians Certificate or the Accounts Clerk National Certificate.
- A Degree from a recognised university
- Such other certificates or diplomas as may be approved by the Board of KASNEB.

There are three full-time courses each year:
- 1st semester - early January to April
- 2nd semester - early May to August
- 3rd semester - early September to December
In each semester, courses for Part I (Sections 1 and 2) and Part II (Sections 3 and 4) and Part III (Section 5 and 6).
There are three evening courses each year:
- 1st semester - early January to April
- 2nd semester - early May to August
- 3rd semester - early September to December
Correspondence should be addressed to the Registrar (Admissions). All applicants should complete an application form.
Candidates are required to sit a General Entrance Examination (GEE), which shall consist of:
- Mathematics, English and a final Oral interview.
Applicants should report to the University by 8.00am on the day of the interview and should bring:
1. Two (2) passport-size photographs
2. Original and photocopies of all relevant academic and professional certificates.
3. Copy of the national ID/ Birth Passport
4. Entrance examination fee of KShs 1,500.
Attendance and progress reports will be sent regularly to Companies sponsoring employees to our courses. The University is recognized by the Directorate of Industrial Training for the purpose of reimbursement of fees. The names of students sponsored must be submitted to the Directorate before the commencement of the course.
