For many organisations and particularly for a university, collaboration is invaluable for innovation, creativity and many significant benefits that come from building and sustaining relationships within the university.
This year, we are encouraged to seek ways of working together for better output in whatever we undertake. We should strive to share resources and opportunities not just among the student community, but also among the academic and administrative staff. This will go a long way in creating stronger teams, better synergies and overall a culture of sharing among us.
Strathmore draws its inspiration from the ideals of St. Josemaría Escriva, that all of us should work together for the common good as clearly spelt out in our motto ‘Ut Omnes Unum Sint’.
Some of the ways in which we will exhibit working together collaboratively will include; faculty collaboration through research projects and writing proposals for grant funds; sharing of information on activities that could benefit the Strathmore community; working in teams that cut across all schools; organising CSR activities across departments, participating in sports activities among others.
In a nutshell, our sense of belonging will be enhanced when we create bonds that go beyond one’s line of duty, stretching whatever resources we have to serve all. In that way, we will indeed work ‘Together and Everyone will Achieve More’.
I urge you all Stratizens and my fellow colleagues, seize this moment, rise to this momentous ocassion and make a difference.
I wish you all a collaborative and inspiring year.
