Prof Paddy Miller of IESE Business School, Barcelona will give a lecture on "Innovation and Creative Cultures" in the auditorium in the evening of 21st May 2008 at 6.30pm. The lecture focuses on how senior management in an organization can facilitate an innovative culture in their firms.
Prof Miller's areas of interest include: change management, strategy implementation in global organizations, organizational development, and global management. He has been extensively involved in management development issues in many organizations during the transition to globalization. He has in the recent past consulted for the World Bank, Abbott Laboratories, Bacardi, Bayer, Boeing, Bosch-Siemens, Bulgari, Ericsson, Henkel AG, MedioFlo (a Qualcomm subsidiary), Nike, Lufthansa, Thyssen-Krupp, Volkswagen AG, 3i Plcand Visteon Corp.
In 2001, The American Academy of Management awarded him together with a colleague for their work on globally distributed teams. McGraw-Hill recently published his book, 'Mission Critical Leadership' (2001). He is the editor of the Journal of Leadership Education. He has also written and contributed to several books and articles that have appeared in publications ranging from the 'Financial Times' to the 'Journal of Management Education'. His case studies have won awards in various international fora.
Prof Miller is a board member of various institutions and companies - the Institute of Media and Entertainment in New York, the Global Academy of the German multinational, Henkel AG in Düsseldorf and is on the Advisory Board of Vivaldi Partners in New York. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of South Africa, an MBA from University of Cape Town, and a PhD in Management from IESE. |
