IntroductionWelcome to Strathmore University's Advancement & External Relations department. Strathmore is one of the leading private universities in East Africa. The University is very grateful for the generosity of all its donors (alumni, foundations, government agencies and friends). The continuation of such support is vital to its future ability to excel in providing quality education and enhance its position as one of the leading universities in Kenya and East Africa The Office of Advancement & External Relations consists of the Departments of Advancement and Alumni Relations. Specific areas of responsibility within the office include capital and annual giving fund raising initiatives; alumni programming and events; publication of the Letter from Strathmore (the newsletter for alumni and friends of the university) and the Annual Report; donor relations. The university has also established Strathmore University Foundation, a registered 501(c) (3) public charity in the United States, in 2003 to work in conjunction with the Advancement office to solicit gifts/donations from well-wishers and donors in North America and elsewhere.
